Survey assessing Chamber Member’s Interests for “Hands-On Social Media Class”

Many of you have requested getting help understanding social media services and setting up ‘Channels’ like Facebook Business Pages, Twitter accounts, LinkedIn, Youtube, etc.
Leif Hansen, of Spark Interaction, recently taught a “Hands on Social Media” Class at the Port Angeles Library for PA Chamber members (and the broader community) that went very successfully. Members brought their laptops, learned social media basics and tips, and setup (or transitioned) new FaceBook Pages to the new Timeline view.

However, the first step was assessing interests and needs so that Leif could tailor the 3 hour class to meet those needs.

Please take 3-5 minutes to fill out the following survey to help us assess what Jefferson county business owners would like to learn about Social Media. Click here to take the survey.

Dept of Labor Backs Off on Ag-Child Labor Bill

The U.S. Department of Labor has withdrawn new regulations that would have prohibited children under the age of 18 from participating in many farm chores.

New Member Spotlight – Olympic Steel

The next time you’re driving through Hadlock, check out the Olympic Steel Showroom (in the old Jefferson TV shop) at 10631 Rhody Drive.

Dick Shipman, Olympic Steel owner, says, “we’ve been metal roofing and metal building contractors for  more than 10 years, but we wanted to show the public how versatile metal roofing  has become, from those simulating  cedar shakes, clay tiles, and slate to the regular standing seam “snaplock” panels that everyone is familiar with. We still do regular composition roofs too, but we like metal for its lifetime durability and its recycle origins”

Olympic Steel sells to builders or homeowners, offering advice and competitive pricing whether it’s for a custom home or an old barn reroof.  “We also watch the ‘specials’ from the more than half a dozen metal roofing/siding  suppliers we buy from,”  Dick explains. Read Full Post
