Simon Mace Gallery – New Member Spotlight

Brad and Christina Mace have been art lovers and active in the arts community for many years. They decided that an art gallery would be an ideal new business for them–an outlet for their love of art and a dog friendly environment to which they could bring their dog, Simon. Searching for the right space ended when AOT moved to Water Street in September. With “new” recycled floors, fresh white paint and a focus on paintings and sculpture, Simon Mace Gallery opened December 3rd, 2011.
The intention is for Simon Mace Gallery to complement Port Townsend’s existing galleries, showcase exceptional art and contribute to our city’s vibrancy and economy.
Simon, a friendly hound mix, is getting used to his new position in the public eye and trying to remember that tail wagging is a preferable greeting to barking his hello!
February’s show will feature paintings by Bellingham artist, Lorna Libert.
Membership in the Chamber of Commerce seems like a good way to be part of the larger business community as we all work together to foster an energetic and meaningful Port Townsend experience for both locals and visitors.
Simon Mace Gallery is located across from the Rose Theatre at 236 Taylor Street, open 11 to 6pm, Thursday thru Monday. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. www.simonmacegallery.com
